The Great Escape is a film released in the United States in 1963. The director is John Stuttgar. The starring includes Steve McQueen, James Garner, Charles Brownson, James Gobin and Richard · Attenborough. The film is adapted from the book of the same name published by Paul Brickhill in 1950. It is a true story during World War II. It describes the story of a group of US Army Air Force and Royal Air Force prisoners of war who escaped from a German POW camp in Poland. Most of the characters in the play are taken from real characters, and some characters are a collection of several real characters. Many details of escape in the play have been modified, and most of the parts of American characters who escaped during the escape plan and the actual escape are fictitious.
The film premiered on June 20, 1963 at the Audien Cinema in Leicester Square, London.
