Father Knows Best is an American sitcom, starring Robert Young, Jane Wyatt, Eleanor Donahue, Billy Gray and Lauren Shapin. The series was first broadcast on the radio in 1949, and was broadcast as a TV program for six seasons with a total of 203 episodes. "Best Father" by Ed James follows the life of the Andersons, who live in the northwest town of Springfield, Oregon. In October 1954, the TV series made its debut on CBS. . The series was watched by NBC and remained there for three seasons. After being cancelled for the second time in 1958, the series was watched by CBS until it aired in May 1960.
