The Red Skelton Show is an American TV comedy/variety show. From 1951 to 1971, this was the main content of entertainment activities and the first choice for a generation of viewers. In the ten years before hosting the show, Richard "Red" Skelton had served as a radio and movie star and had a successful career. Although his TV series are largely associated with CBS, which has appeared for more than 16 years, it actually started or ended on NBC. During its operation, the show won three Emmy Awards, namely Skelton's best comedian and the show's best comedy show in its initial season, and the 1961 Comedy Writing Award. In 1959, Skelton also won the Golden Globe Award for Best TV Show.
