Double Indemnity is a noir film made by Billy Wilder in 1944 and is regarded as one of the best screenplays in American history. This film is adapted from James Caine's 1943 novel of the same name, and was transformed into a movie script by Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler, simplifying the complex four-corner relationship in the original work. The film was collected by the Library of Congress in 1992 because of its cultural value.
