Although its name suggests it may be some kind of rudimentary audio recording device made from Lego bricks, the product, released in 2009, is actually a wind-up car. Once built, users press the bright red "Record" button on the back of the model and use it to trace a path. When the user clicks the Play button, the model follows a predefined path. It's hard to explain, and it doesn't seem to be operating or selling well. Lego didn't do a good job of marketing the product because most consumers didn't know what it was. While the company has a reputation for innovation, this may be going too far.
