Elizabeth Taylor, born in London, England, is an American film and television actor. In 1942, nine-year-old Elizabeth starred in her first comedy film "A Child Every Minute". In 1943, Taylor signed a contract with MGM. In 1944, at the age of 12, she starred in "The Jade Goddess Horse". In 1949, as the heroine and Montgomery Clift co-starred in the movie "Heart Like Iron". Starring in "Father-in-law" in 1956. From 1957 to 1959, she won three Oscar nominations for "Pretty Woman in Warring States", "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "Summer Cry". In 1961, she won the 33rd Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in "The Brothel". In 1963, "Cleopatra" starring Taylor was released. In 1967, she won the 39th Oscar for Best Actress for "The Spring Festival Night". In 1992, Taylor won the Oscar Hersholt Humanitarian Award. In 2005, Elizabeth Taylor won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
