Super Mario is one of the biggest gaming ICONS in the world, and players old and new recognize the face of the Italian plumber, and most of the time, they're not even gamers. Nintendo has created an IP that will stay with them for the rest of their lives, a game that can span multiple life cycles and still be strong.

It returned to the Nintendo Entertainment System in Super Mario Bros and continued that tradition, culminating in its latest console, the Switch, Super Mario Odyssey. With such a large lineup of Mario games over the decades, there are naturally some that can be tricky even for veteran gamers -- but out of the dozens of Mario games, which one is the most difficult?
