Many of the retro games on this list are still very popular today, and are often still played by avid fans on preserved game consoles or on computers through simulator software. 

1978 is traditionally regarded as the beginning of the golden age of video games, especially in arcade games, with the launch of many popular retro games (including Frog and Guardians of the Galaxy). 

Finally, in 1985, Nintendo introduced the first Nintendo entertainment system to the store, bundled with Super Mario Brothers, a landmark game in console history.
