In 1926, Greta Garbo filmed the first silent film "Rapid Current" in Hollywood. In 1930 she starred in her first sound film "Anna Christie" and was nominated for the third Oscar for Best Actress. In 1935, Greta Garbo starred in the movies "La Traviata" and "Anna Karenina". With "La Traviata", she was nominated for Best Actress in the 10th Academy Awards. In 1939, "Ninoki Ka" made Greta Garbo nominate the Academy Award for Best Actress for the third time. After the filming of the film "Two-Faced Woman" in 1941, Greta Garbo announced her retiring. In 1955, Greta Garbo won the 27th Oscar for Lifetime Achievement Honor. He died of pneumonia in New York, USA on April 15, 1990. In 1999, the American Film Institute selected Greta Garbo as the fifth greatest actress in a century.
