M*A*S*H is an American war comedy TV series that was broadcast on CBS from 1972 to 1983. It was produced by Larry Gelbart and was the first original film adapted from the 1970 feature film M*A*S*H in turn based on Richard Hooker The novel "MASH: A Novel About Three Military Doctors". This series was produced by 20th Century Fox Television for CBS. During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the series followed a team of doctors and support staff stationed in the "4077th Army Mobile Hospital" of the Ue Government in South Korea. The title sequence of the show features a pure tool version of the theme song "Suicide Is Painless" of the original movie. The show was created after a failed attempt to shoot the sequel to the original book "M * A * S * H Goes to Maine".
