Beverly Hillbillies is an American TV sitcom that aired on CBS from 1962 to 1971. The cast of the show is composed of Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas and Max Baer Jr. as Clampetts, a poor, backward family of Ozarks who moved to Bever, California after slamming oil on their land Lishanzhuang. The show is produced by Filmways and created by writer Paul Henning. Followed by two other "country cousins" series inspired by Henning on CBS: Petticoat Junction and its derivative Green Acres, which reversed the pattern of Beverly Hillbillies from poor to rich, from rural to urban.
