"The Adams Family" is an American creepy/black comedy sitcom based on the characters in Charles Adams's "The New Yorker" comic. The 30-minute TV series was created by David Levy and Donald Saltzman and shot in black and white. It was broadcast on ABC for two seasons from September 18, 1964 to April 8, 1966, with a total of 64 episodes. The show is also famous for the opening theme created and sung by Vic Mizzy. The show was originally produced by lead writer Nat Perrin for Filmways, Inc. at General Service Studios in Hollywood, California. The successor company MGM Television now owns the rights to the show.
