Sales of Resident Evil: The Village has soared since its May 2021 release, to the point where many thought it would outperform Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War. Alas, even though it sold 4.5 million units in its first two months on the market, vG247.com reports, that's still below expectations.

With its blisteringly fast sales, Re-Village's sales slowed somewhat, ranking 19th in July 2021 (Gamespot) sales. However, the Capcom game sold a large number of copies in its early days and received positive reviews, which pushed the iconic game back to the top of the sales charts.
