The Resident Evil series looks at the sheer fear of isolation and the constant anticipation of terrible events. The beauty of a remake is that it allows developers to apply new approaches to existing ideas, which has the advantage of developing those ideas rather than starting from scratch.

Resident Evil 2 Remake does a lot of things right. It never loses the things that made the original so beloved, but tries something new. In the redesigned environments and character designs, enemies were brought to life, and the creatures' sound design made the player more fearful of turning and wanting to see nothing on the other side.
