In Mario Golf: Super Sprint, putting is the best way to end a hole, and the game recognizes this by automatically activating the putter as the player approaches the hole. What most players might miss, however, is that they can launch their putt well before hitting the green.

As long as a player's ball is not on any less than ideal terrain and the distance is ideal, they can start their putt from the fairway. It's a great way to play along with putt or just get the ball as close to the hole as possible, rather than relying on one shot.
