While Far Cry has a skill tree and customization, it's not really an RPG, and that's part of its appeal. You feel RPG-like progression, but no grinding. Few other FPS can do this, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. tops Far Cry in this regard.

It's an old-school post-apocalyptic FPS where you're thrown into the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the aftermath of a disaster. Above all, it's about surviving overwhelming odds and all sorts of oddities. Far Cry players should feel at home.
