If you want a running game that encourages friendly team competition while allowing kids to learn individually, try Flipping cylinders. A pile of disk cones was scattered across the field, half up and half upside down. Divide the children into two groups. One group was told to put as many cones up as possible, and the other group was told to put as many cones down as possible.
Let the children play for a few minutes, then blow a whistle to stop them. One child from each pair counts cones to see who wins. Now that the cones are ready, they can play again. The time of each round depends on the number of cones you have and the age of your child. Younger children need more time to turn the cone than older children.
