Gold-plated Blackstone was introduced in the lower bound update, but so far it doesn't seem to have much use. Gold-plated blackstone may drop gold nuggets during mining. However, it may also drop gold-plated blackstone, and as far as we know, it has no real use.

Unlike ordinary blackstone, which can actually be used to make polished blackstone and many other things, gold-plated blackstone seems to have something to do with its nugget drop rate.

Interestingly, when Zhu Ling starts mining gold-plated Blackstone, they become hostile to players.

Gold-plated blackstone cannot be mined by hand. Well, it can, but it won't drop anything. To mine gold-plated blackstone, you need a basic pick. Of course, mining time will be delayed according to the material from which picks are made.

When mining with picks, gold-plated blackstone usually drops itself. But there's a 10% chance of dropping 2 or 5 nuggets. Similar to gravel mining, enchantment does increase the chances of gold-plated blackstone dropping gold. The wealth enchantment that reaches its maximum at the third level gradually increases the chances of falling gold from the gilded Blackstone.
