"Vogue" is a popular dance song sung by American female singer Madonna Cicconi. The lyrics are written by Madonna Cicconi and Shep Pettyborn. The song was released on March 20, 1990, as the original theme song of the film "The Detective", and was later included in the film's soundtrack album "I'm Breathless".
"Vogue" won the music charts in 11 regions of Australia, Belgium, Finland, Canada, Norway, Japan, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom during 1990, and won on May 19, 1990, No. 1 on the Billboard Top 100 Singles Chart in the United States, becoming Madonna Siconi’s eighth single on the Billboard Top 100 Singles Chart, winning the top spot for three weeks. In March 1991, "Vogue" won the "International Single of the Year" award from the Canadian Juno Awards.
On January 30, 2006, "Vogue" was named one of the "Top 100 Dance Songs" by "Pian Feng" magazine and ranked third.
"Vogue" was inspired by a dance called "Voguing" in a gay disco in New York.
Madonna was fascinated by this dance and was inspired by it. Later, she contacted producer Shep Pettyborn to write the song with her. The producer extracted two different pieces of wind music from the song "Love Break". But in the arrangement of the song, the arrangement of the material used by the producer is different.
The producer used the musical score section of the song "Love Break" with a double bell sound. The most sampled are the single quarter notes and the entire score section of the double bell sound and used technical means to extract wind material from it. At the same time, the sound of other instruments is downplayed, and the tune and rhythm of the material are converted. In the post-production process, other elements and instrument sounds are added. For the production of double-bell sound, the producer not only repeats the single-bell sound but also adapts the rhythm of one to make it change from quarter note to eighth note. The producer finally adapted the wind music material in this way and incorporated other elements to create "Vogue".
