There are a ton of Lego games out there right now, many of them transforming popular materials into unique games that will certainly fill a gap in their own right. But that doesn't apply to this game.
Lego games are often entities built around a cosmic framework of source material. But that was not the case with the Lego rock band. When I think about this game, one simple word comes to mind: unnecessary. It's just a rock band game with a new coat of paint. Maybe Rock Band developer Harmonix is looking to find something more kid-friendly in its series, or Lego developer TT Fusion is looking to make a quick buck with a relatively simple game, but one thing is for sure; The game doesn't offer either company anything special.
