Dollhouse is an American science fiction television series produced by writer and director Joss Whedon under the banner of Mutant Enemies. It premiered on the Fox network on February 13, 2009, and was cancelled on November 11, 2009. The last episode aired on January 29, 2010. Production ended in December 2009 and a total of 27 episodes were produced, including the original pilot. The show revolves around a company that operates numerous underground locations around the world. The company provides programs for individuals with temporary personalities and skills called "active people". Wealthy clients rented Actives from the doll house for various purposes, at high cost, including robbery, sexual intercourse, assassination, expert consultants, and various unique experiences. The series mainly follows Echo, the protagonist played by Eliza Dushku, as she moves towards self-awareness. Dushku also served as a series producer.
