Acid Nerve honed their ability to turn combat into puzzles with Titan Souls, and Deathgate was the obvious next step. Their last game was a parody of Dark Souls, but Deathgate expanded it into a classic Zelda dungeon exploration style. Most of all, it feels good to travel the world.
Death's Door offers options in every situation, but accurate action is your main task. Its world design is intricate, which leads to a lot of backtracking. However, you are almost always rewarded for doing so. If you want something that takes you back to the summer sitting in front of the SNES playing A Link to the Past, Death's Door is it.
