Morna Anne Murray born June 20, 1945 is a Canadian singer. Her albums consisting primarily of pop, country, and adult contemporary music have sold over 55 million copies worldwide during her 40-year career.
Murray was the first Canadian female singer to be number one on the US charts and the first person to win a gold record with her signature song "Snowbird" (1970). She is often regarded as one of the Canadian female artists who paved the way for other international success stories in Canada.
Murray has won four Grammy Awards, a record 24 Junos, three American Music Awards, three Country Music Association Awards and three Canadian Country Music Association Awards. She has been inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, Juneau Hall of Fame, Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and Canadian Radio Hall of Fame. She is a member of the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame and has her own stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles and the Canadian Walk of Fame in Toronto.
