Bugsnax tells a strange and child-friendly story set on Snake Tooth Island, a place inhabited by creatures that are part insect, part snack. The game puts players in the shoes of a young journalist, seeking out and observing these lovely titular creatures in their natural habitat.

When a series of events occur, you suddenly find yourself having to find and collect Bugsnax, which can lead to an addiction to the game loop. Collecting creatures is part of the game's appeal. It really feels like trying to catch wildlife, albeit in a cuter, child-friendly way.
