Is A Violent Prosecutor a crime comedy movie?

A Violent Prosecutor is a 2016 South Korean crime film directed by Lee Il-hyung, produced by Guk Su Ran and starring Hwang Jung-min, Kang Dong-won, Lee Sung-min and Park Sung-woong. It was released in South Korea on February 3, 2016 by Showbox.

Byun Jae-Wook  is a grumpy prosecutor who only pursues the truth. He is notorious for his arduous and painstaking investigations. Then, under the interrogation of Byun Jae-Wook, a suspect was found to be the deceased. All the evidence indicates that Byun Jae-Wook is a criminal. Byun Jae-Wook was charged and imprisoned for 15 years.

At first, he was abused by prisoners. He helped some guards avoid court fees and other legal matters. This allowed him to obtain a special position in prison. He used his legal knowledge and experience to help the officers, soldiers and prisoners in prison. This made the prisoners loyal to him, and whenever he received a gift from the guards, he would treat them well. He shared food and cigarettes with other prisoners. Those in prison call him "Sir Elder", which means elder. One day, a man who owns a company walked up to him and asked for advice about the person who beat him for raping his daughter. He gave him an answer. The prisoner then asked him what he could do for Jae Wook, answering that he would know later.

Five years later, Bai Zai Wu Xu met the young liar Zhiyuan (Gang Dong-won) in prison. Zhiyuan knows the details of Byun Jae-Wook's case. Byun Jae-Wook trained Chi-Won to execute his plan outside the prison. Using his knowledge as a former prosecutor, he can freely obtain Zhiyuan. Byun Jae-Wook fought back against those who framed him.

Chi-won meets with a friend of the suspect in Jae-Wook's murder. The man admitted that the suspect did suffer from asthma and must always carry an inhaler. He did not know that he was recorded by Zhi Yuan, and Zhi Yuan sent the file back to Jae Wook. Jae Wook prepared documents for parole and sent the documents and recordings to the judge holding his case. This information will be sent to the congressional candidate who is the Assistant Secretary-General of the Office of the Prosecutor, and all means will be taken to close the case. The informant was found and beaten until half of his body was paralyzed. Worried about his life, Chi-Won took this opportunity to get rid of Byun Jae-Wook. When Jae-Wook recognized Chi-Won's plan, he sought help from prisoners who had previously assisted them in their cases. Byun Jae-Wook and Chi-Won got together and started planning with Jong-Gil (Lee Sung-min) as an assistant. The attorney general during Byun Jae-Wook's trial and the person who persuaded Byun Jae-Wook to defend himself in self-defense led to his imprisonment. The flashback shown shows that Jong Gil, who was participating in the upcoming elections, was cooperating with builders to occupy ecologically significant land, visited the interrogation room, beat the prisoners and held the inhaler, resulting in suffocation.

Jae-Wook was able to win the retrial because he obtained a recording of Jong-Gil, acknowledging that he has an inhaler. Later, after we saw Jae-Wook released from prison, Chi-Won greeted him with a bag of tofu, implying that they had researched a new item together. The movie ends with Jae-Wook telling Chi-Won to live honestly, quoting John 16:33 from the Bible, and hitting Chi-Won on his head.
